Mr. ‘Rotimi Aleshinloye leads the Strategy & Planning function and also doubles as the Head of the Retail business group at SUNU Assurances Nigeria Plc.

Heis an experienced Execution consultant (Strategy, Operations & People) with over 15 years’ experience in the development and implementation of growth strategies and transformation programs for Corporations across different industries and geographies.

Rotimi has worked with some of the world’s leading companies while executing pivotal roles on a wide range of engagements including; Mergers & Acquisitions, Market/Product entry strategies, Blue Ocean and Defensive strategies, Competitive positioning, Feasibility studies and Greenfield opportunities aimed at achieving clear goals & priorities while ensuring long-term shareholder value.

Prior to joining SUNU Assurances Nigeria on a full-time basis, he was engaged in a consulting capacity to assist with the formulation of the company’s 3-year strategic plan & financial projections for the company. His contributions also included the design of the operating policies and procedures for all the functional areas and departments of the company while ensuring alignment with SUNU Group standards.

‘Rotimi was Head, Strategy and Brand/Corporate Communications at AIICO Insurance Plc between 2010 and 2016.  He was responsible for the implementation of the company’s “Transformation program” – facilitating and coordinating efforts of the company’s leadership team to analyze, develop and execute strategic and operational initiatives while designing incentive systems to maximize company performance results.

He played a critical role as a key member of the executive management team that successfully raised $20Million from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) – the private investment division of the World Bank – to finance the company’s growth/expansion plans. Specifically, he was in charge of the project management function across the bidder selection, due diligence and post-deal stages of the strategic investment. He also facilitated the achievement of critical business priorities; defining and ensuring disciplined execution of the company’s strategic agenda – strengthening the balance sheet, growing net earnings and developing people.

Earlier on in his career, Rotimi had a stint with Access bank Plc. and then later worked with global consulting firms including Accenture (Nigeria), Stax Inc. (Boston, USA) as a consultant on a wide range of industry engagements including Insurance, Banking, Pension, FMCG, Green Energy and Construction across Africa, North America and Asia.

Rotimi has an MBA from Hult International Business School in Boston, MA and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
